Blue Cube Marine was commissioned to create beautiful tiles to help restore marine biodiversity in coastal structures in Porthcawl. They collaborated with Resting Reef to design a unique “Resting Reef tile” and join forces to be part of the delivery of this restoration project. This collaboration marks the first test of Resting Reef’s unique formula with livestock ashes in a marine site here in the UK!
This partnership is a significant milestone for Resting Reef, showcasing the team’s capability to deliver impactful restoration projects with the help of incredible collaborators.
Resting Reef also collaborated with Better Futures Programme, which granted them access to the Imperial College Advanced Hackspace and sponsored the development of the retrofitted tile. Equipped with machinery like CNC and mould-making facilities and assistance, they were able to craft the master for the tile. The design was assisted by Wei Zhang.
