A recent article in the esteemed scientific journal Nature employs high-resolution data analysis to reveal an alarming trend: human settlements, spanning from small villages to sprawling megacities, are steadily and rapidly encroaching into regions susceptible to flooding- and will most likely necessitate more flood defences.
